Welcome to the web site of Stella Maris Charters Ltd. Stella Maris operates out of Ramsgate Harbour in Thanet, Kent. We offer day and night sea fishing trips, pleasure trips and are available for a variety of tasks as a work boat. Some of the tasks we are able to undertake are standby vessel, supply vessel, film,observation and photography. Contact us to discuss your specific requirement.

 

About the Ship

Origins

Stella Maris was a Kromhout Cutter built in the shipyard at Sneek in the Netherlands in 1962.

She started off her days as a beam trawler fishing the North Sea and the Baltic side of Denmark. 

In 1988, her Kromhout engine was replaced with a MAN 280 turbo charged diesel. This engine is still installed and running today.

 

 

Charter Ship

In 2000, Stella Maris was sold and underwent an extensive re-fit and started a new life as a charter boat for sports fishing in the Netherlands. All of the commercial fishing gear was removed. The fish hold was converted in to a large saloon for the anglers . She was coded for 36 passengers under the strict Dutch Coding.

Currently, she is undergoing a refit to construct a further cabin, an upper deck, and to re-register her under the British MCA Coding. This will reduce her passenger carrying capacity to 12.
